Cookie Notice
How this website uses cookies, browser storage, embedded media, and optional Meta measurement—and how you can control them.
Last updated August 6, 2026
Your choices at a glance
- Essential website functions are always available.
- Facebook and YouTube content connects only when you choose to load it.
- Meta measurement remains off unless you specifically allow it.
- Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track keeps Meta measurement off.
- You can review or change your choices at any time through the control.
Essential website functions
Essential website operation uses a small amount of browser storage to provide security, remember your privacy choices, maintain a currency selection, and complete actions you request.
The fivec_privacy_choice cookie stores only the version of this notice that applied when you made your choice, the optional categories you accepted or declined, and the date and time of your choice. This cookie may remain on your device for up to 365 days.
Facebook and YouTube content
Facebook and YouTube players appear as placeholders until you deliberately select Load or Play.
When you load an item, your browser connects to that provider. The provider may then receive information such as your IP address, browser or device details, and cookies under its own privacy terms.
Loading an embedded item enables the Optional embedded media preference. Each protected Facebook item still requires its own Load action.
If you turn this preference off, active Facebook and YouTube players are removed from the current page. This stops future connections from this website, but it cannot withdraw information already shared with an external provider.
Advertising and Meta measurement
Advertising and Meta measurement is optional and begins turned off.
If you allow it—and the integration is active—the website may send PageView and ViewContent events to Meta from selected public pages. These events help measure how public content is viewed.
Browser-based measurement may allow Meta to set or read cookies such as _fbp and _fbc under Meta’s terms.
The website may also send a matching server copy of the same event. This helps Meta recognize the browser and server copies as one event rather than counting them twice.
A server event may include:
- The event type and time
- A random, one-use event ID
- The public page address without query or tracking details
- A broad description of the content being viewed
- Your IP address
- Your browser user agent
The IP address and browser information are used to make the current Meta request. The Five C Theory does not add them to its own Meta-event records. Meta receives and processes this information under the Meta Privacy Policy.
The server event does not include:
- Your name, email address, or telephone number
- An account or external customer ID
- Meta cookie identifiers
- Customer lists
- Form entries or messages
- Civic-assessment or civic-planning responses
- Lead, registration, subscription, contact, application, or purchase events
We do not use advanced matching.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, Meta measurement remains off regardless of any previously saved choice.
If this notice or the information involved changes significantly, we may ask you to make a fresh choice.
First-party website measurement
The website may collect aggregate usage counts without using a cookie or persistent visitor identifier. This first-party measurement stops when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
This information is separate from optional Meta measurement.
Information saved on your device
Features you deliberately use may store information locally in your browser, including:
- Reading position and bookmarks
- Private notes
- Video playback preferences
- Language or low-data preferences
- Saved planning work
- Offline pages and documents
These records stay in your browser and are not sent to Meta. Information described as private or device-only is not sent to Leone Connect Publishing.
Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to view locally saved information.
Offline reading
When you choose to save content for offline reading, the website may store selected public pages, documents, and supporting information on your device.
This may include the save date, content version, edition, update status, storage use, and a local search index covering only the pages you saved.
The website does not silently download an offline collection. Optional background checks may tell you whether saved content is current, but they do not automatically download a new collection.
If you export your reader data, the resulting file may contain your private notes. Restoring data reads only the file you deliberately select.
The optional fivec_text_first cookie remembers whether you asked the website to delay decorative images.
Offline storage does not include account pages, checkout information, orders, payments, administration pages, form submissions, subscriptions, streaming media, or personalized responses.
Use Offline Access to update or remove saved content, export or restore reader data, change reading preferences, or clear information stored on your device.
Change or withdraw your choice
Optional categories remain off until you choose them. Allowing embedded media does not also authorize Meta measurement.
Use the control at any time to review or change your settings.
Turning off Advertising and Meta measurement:
- Stops future browser and server measurement from The Five C Theory
- Removes Meta cookies accessible to this website where technically possible
- Does not retrieve information already shared with Meta
